I'm Ramona's mom and she is my only birth child. I also have a grandson, Jeremy, who believes it is his job to teach his aunt Ramona that my world doesn't just revolve around her! I taught foreign languages in middle schools and high schools in Ohio and New Jersey for over 40 years.

As you can imagine I have lots of unofficially adopted children too. As the middle child of 9 children I have lots of brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. There is enough love for everybody! My family has roots in Oxford, Mississippi where I was born. I was raised in Oberlin, Ohio. While growing up, I was a great field hockey player and my girl scout troop stayed together from elementary school through high school. Go Girl Scouts!

I am a charter member of a chapter of Phi Delta Kappa Sorority Incorported. We strive for excellence in education. I was educated at Oberlin High School in Ohio, Baldwin Wallace College and Kent State University. My hobbies include reading thrillers and mysteries, studying herbal remedies, researching French and Spanish speaking cultures, collecting bells, gardening and watching CBS soaps! I enjoy good old Motown music and hymns. I even own my own hymnal. I grew up in the United Methodist church and I intend be a United Methodist until the day I die.

These days I'm best known for my "Wide World of Wheezy" segment on the "Matt and Ramona Show." You can hear my Cougar Growl on Wednesdays. There you have it! I'm an African American, United Methodist, mom, grandma, sister, aunt, friend, cousin, teacher and cougar with a myriad of interests! I'm currently single and I live with my daughter in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
